Calcium formate (Ca(HCOO)₂) is a white to off-white crystalline powder with 98% minimum purity. It is primarily used as a non-chloride setting accelerator in construction (cement, mortars, tile adhesives) and as an EU-approved feed additive (E238) in animal nutrition for swine, poultry, and aquaculture.

Calcium formate accelerates cement hydration, increasing early compressive strength by 20–50%. It is chloride-free, making it safe for reinforced concrete. Typical dosage is 0.5–3% by weight of cement, and it is especially valuable for cold-weather pouring and rapid-setting applications.
